The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) invites all unemployed South African graduates and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) students to apply for the 2025/2026 to 2026/2027 Internship and WIL Programme. This 24-month fixed-term internship provides practical, on-the-job experience in alignment with your field of study.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the DHET internship or WIL opportunity, you must:
- Be a South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35
- Be currently unemployed
- Have never participated in any internship or WIL programme in the public service
- Hold the relevant academic qualification for the post you’re applying for
- Be available for the full 24-month duration of the programme
- Submit a fully completed Z83 form and a comprehensive CV

Monthly Stipends
